My 10×15 Chandler & Price press hit 99,999 impressions yesterday. That’s a lot of printing for only a couple of years of running!

Here’s my 2012 Letterpress Coaster Calendar! I hand-fed each coaster 3 times on a vintage 10×15 Chandler & Price letterpress. I printed 450 calendars with 3 “hits” per calendar and 13 coasters per set. So I ended up with 39 x 450 = 17,550 impressions and it took me about 30 hours to print! Whew!

This 2012 Letterpress Coaster Calendar is a great addition to any coffee table or desk and perfect as a holiday gift. Set includes 13 coasters (3.5” x 3.5”), one for each month, printed with 2-colors on the front, 1-color for the dates on the back and one “2012” cover coaster. Each month is designed for a different New Belgium beer.

This weekend’s business/calling card workshop went really well. The two ladies that joined me for the workshop had a great enthusiasm for letterpress. Both of their cards turned out great. You can view more photos of the workshop here.

Finally moved in the press we got last summer. It’s a 12 x 18 Chandler & Price, also known as the “Mega Cab Crusher.” While trying to unload it from our truck, it tipped over, and, well… crushed our Mega Cab.

Everything seems to work on it. It even has the some parts for an Automatic Rice Feeder attached. The rollers are in great shape. Next, we will tackle the motor and see if we can get it all working. The 10 x 15 looks so small now and the 3 x 5 Kelsy (pictured in the middle) looks so tiny.

Since getting my Chandler & Price 10 x 15 letterpress, I feel the need to print everything and anything on it. This last December I printed my daughter’s 3 year old birthday invitations on it. It’s hard to justify printing kid invitations on a letterpress knowing that most likely they will just get thrown away or colored on. The only person that will know the difference and the amount of time it takes is me (and maybe a few others). I hope that when the recipients receive any invitation in the mail, whether created with a letterpress or not, will appreciate and acknowledge the extra effort they take compared an email.

Here’s a tribute to making and receiving items in the mail with a peek my 3 year old’s invitations. I went with a carnival theme by using tickets as the main graphic and using flags as decorations. They are printed on 100% tree-free paper with soy ink using a recycled envelope. The cupcakes played a big part in the overall theme to the party as you’ll see in the photo (thanks Steph).
